Mare grey,
Born 22 February, 2004
A reigning Polish National Senior Champion Mare/Best in Show, NORMA is an exceptional Arabian specimen boasting a pedigree loaded with historical significance.
Maternally NORMA stems from the damline of Sahara, one of the three original “Pearls of the Desert” imported to Poland in 1845 by Count Dzieduszycki, who collectively now form the foundation for all modern Polish breeding. The damline travelled through both hemispheres to return to its roots via WN NASTASEA, a NABOR daughter gifted to Michałów Stud by the wife of the much respected American breeder and the great stallion’s last owner – Tom Chauncey.
The Tersk-bred NABOR brought fame to Poland with a whole cast of international champions as Canadian Reserve Champion Mare ESKADRA, European & Swedish Champion Stallion DARDIR, US Champion Mare DORNABA, Swedish Champion Stallion ESPARTERO, Canadian Champion Stallion GWALIOR and US & Canadian Champion Stallion ARAMIS, but more importantly still has tremendous influence on Polish breeding through his priceless daughters, an impeccable collection which includes full sisters ESKAPADA & ESTEBNA – daughters of Michałów’s “E” dynasty of champions foundress ESTOKADA, with ESKAPADA being the progenitor of EMISJA, EMIGRACJA, ETENTA, ELLADA, EMIGRANTKA, EMIGRANT, EL DORADA, EKSCELLA, ESPADRILLA, EMANACJA, EMANDA, EMANDORIA & EMANOR, while ESTEBNA’s subline is responsible for such strong masculine accents in Polish breeding as modern chief sires EKSTERN, ESPARTO & EQUATOR.
WN NASTASEA arrived at Michałów at the age of 14 and bestowed upon her hospitable hosts Mallorca Senior Champion Stallion NORMAN and daughter NINA. Sired by the epoch-making MONOGRAMM, NINA joined his elite broodmare herd at Michałów with the likes of KWESTURA, ZAGROBLA, FALLADA, PALMIRA, ESKALOPKA, EMMONA, ELANDRA, ESPADRILLA, EGZONERA, EMBRA & EMOCJA. She confirmed her valuable broodmare status by producing NORMA.
NORMA ages like the best of wines – she blooms with time. Her early show career records may reveal “only” class top fives, yet a closer look will show that these top fives were earned by high total scores, always meeting or exceeding the 91 point mark, as well as always at least one “20” for NORMA’s movement – a trot so cadenced and graceful that you almost expect her to fly above the ground. However last year, at the 2013 Polish Nationals, NORMA was finally acknowledged in all her glory – she received the show’s highest score at 94,33 points, made up of a total of SEVEN “20s” for type, head and neck and of course a complete set for movement. She was also crowned Best in Show,
However, in 2015, Norma went on a journey to achieve new goals in the other half of the world when she joined Almuawd Stud. This addition proved brilliant, and beautiful Norma started collecting awards worthy of her name and of her new home, Almuawd Stud. Norma came as a princess and clinched the gold of the hands of two Paris National Champions. She also achieved points as high as 94.3 points in Qatar’s 24thArabian Horse Show and was crowned the Gold Champion.
Moreover, Dubai’s 2015 International Arabia Horse Championship was the place where charming Norma demonstrated with little efforts from her part or from Almuawd’s that she owns the competition and that Almuawd Stud was able to get her to reach higher grounds. It was clear that Almuawd vision for Norma paved the way for her to gain more confidence and earn more championships. Norma in Dubai was confident and extraordinary which was rewarded with the first place in the Mares 10 Years+ category.
